Massage significantly lowered the intensity of soreness experienced in delayed onset muscle soreness, according to recent research. "The effects of massage on delayed onset muscle soreness" was conducted by J.E. Hilbert, G.A. Sforzo and T. Swensen of the Center for Health Sciences Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences in Ithaca, New York.
